Did you know? Universities often ask you for “touch points,” instances where you meet or contact a university representative. Increase your touch points by: virtual or in-person tours, asking your regional admissions officer questions, attending a college fair, and more.

Texas Residents: Don’t leave money on the table! It’s important to know that once you fill out the TAFSA, you are no longer eligible for FAFSA. If you are a U.S. citizen, regardless of your parents’ citizenship status, it is advisable to fill out the FAFSA. If you are not a U.S. citizen, the TAFSA may give you more access to financial aid in Texas, but it’s still important to check if you’re an “eligible non-citizen” before you fill out the TAFSA.

Don’t dismiss the option to transfer. If you didn’t get into your top choice, consider attending your second or third choice program and transferring after a year of good grades. Keep in mind, your diploma will only say the name of the institution from which you ultimately graduate.
